Food for Veterans Goes Live!

Today we served over 140 people with over 2,000 lbs. of free food!

Our veterans and their families proudly serve and sacrifice, putting the priority of our Country before their own. As we continue to send care-packages, we also want to support our Veterans and Military families in need right here on the Homefront. That is why Support Siouxland Soldiers is launching “Food for Veterans”. We will be distributing a weeks worth of Free Food to our Veterans and their families as a way to thank them for their service and let them know that we appreciate their sacrifices.

If you are a Veteran and would like to receive free food, please email us at siouxlandtroops@gmail.com or Call (712) 541-8020, or fill out the form below.   All we need to know is your name, how many people are in your family and a way to contact you. We will have your food ready for pick-up on these upcoming dates.

Distribution Dates: (Saturdays)
July 14th
September 8th
November 10th

Thank you, Thrivent Financial for raising funds for the Troops!

Thank you, Thrivent Financial for raising over $30,000 for the Troops!

The all American past time paired up with an all American holiday to support our Siouxland Service Members.

We want to thank Thrivent Financial for raising $30,000 over the last four years for our Military families, Veterans and Service Members! Each year Thrivent gives away over 1500 tickets to Military families and Thrivent members for the July 3rd Explorer’s game with fireworks, provides a catered tailgate and raises money for our Troops. They also help collect donations from the crowd at the game and throw out prizes between innings.

“I think that we don’t support our local Soldiers enough,” said Pam Bales of Thrivent Financial. “We hear everything that’s going on in the world and I think we kind of forget what’s happening right here and that’s what our company is all about, supporting the local community.”

The money raised at Tuesday’s game will go to Support Siouxland Soldiers’ Fallen and Injured Service Member Fund and help create the care packages that S.A.L.U.T.E. sends out to our deployed Soldiers.

The evening down at Lewis And Clark Stadium was capped off with fireworks to make the patriotic evening complete.

After crowd donations, Thrivent Financial presented a check on the field for more than $8,700 to Support Siouxland Soldiers and S.A.L.U.T.E.

Support Siouxland Soldiers and the 185th send Care-packages to the Troops!

Support Siouxland Soldiers teamed up with the 185th Iowa National Air Guard to pack and ship over 50 care-packages for the deployed Siouxland Service Members on June 25, 2012. Thank you to Black Hills Energy for donating hundreds of snacks and supplies to fill the care-packages and Hy-Vee for catering dinner for everyone who came out and helped pack the boxes! We are very excited to show our Siouxland Service Members that we support them and send them a taste of home! If you would like to help send care-packages, stay tuned for our next care-pack in August!
