Sending our Troops some Love!

Help us send our Troops some Love for Valentine’s Day! We’re asking students to make hand-made Valentines to include in the care-packages.

To Sponsor a care-package click here! 

Military families are invited to pack and customize care-packages for their loved ones on Monday, Feb. 4th @ 6:00 p.m. at Support Siouxland Soldiers.

You may bring items to pack in the care-packages. We will supply the shipping materials and pay to ship the care-packages.

Military Valentine Ball

Support Siouxland Soldiers will host their 2019 Military Family Valentine Ball on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Sgt. Bluff Community Center, 903 Topaz Dr. Sgt. Bluff, IA.

This event is open to all Active or Retired Service Members, Veterans and Military families. Dress up, bring the kids and grandchildren and let us treat you to a special evening you will all remember for years to come.

This special event will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a social hour.  At 6:00 p.m. the American Legion Post 662 will present the Colors followed by a POW, MIA, KIA Remembrance Ceremony presented by the 185th Air National Guard.  Dinner will include a broasted chicken meal, sides and dessert bar. At 7:00 p.m. the dance floor, family photography, photobooth, kids crafts and activities will begin. The event will conclude at 9:00 p.m.

Dress code includes semi-formal, formal or dress uniform. A cash bar will be available and raffle tickets will be for sale for the chance to win gift baskets and prizes including a deluxe weekend cabin vacation, local restaurant gift cards, hotel stays, jewelry, massage gift certificates, sports and entertainment tickets, car washes, kids gifts and more!

2018 Holidays for Heroes Event

Support Siouxland Soldiers is hosting their 11th Annual Holidays for Heroes Event on Thursday, Dec. 13 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m at Liberty Elementary. This is a free Holiday event for Veterans and Military families and includes a holiday meal, groceries, gifts, clothing, rock painting, a resource fair and music!

Support Siouxland Soldiers Receives Donation from the American Legion Post 376 Dakota City

Sioux City, Iowa – On 31 October, American Legion Post 376, Dakota City, NE presented a check for $500.00 to Sarah Petersen, Director of SUPPORT SIOUXLAND SOLDIERS, at the Waffles for Warriors event this morning in Sioux City, IA. The donation was in appreciation for the help and support provided to local military veterans and their families. Support Siouxland Soldiers is a local non-profit (501c3) that provides care-packages, food assistance and hosts over 24 support events each year for Siouxland Veterans and Military families. For more information visit To become a volunteer please email

Support Siouxland Soldiers began in 2007 and has provided:

·  5,500 care-packages to the Siouxland deployed troops;

·  Served 2,500 hot meals for Veterans and their families each year

·  150,000 lbs of groceries and food assistance

·  24 support events each year;

·  Christmas gifts and dinners to over 600 Veterans and Military families each year
