4th Annual Softball for Armed Services Tournament – 2018

Floyd Softball will host their 4th Annual Softball for Armed Services Tournament Saturday, June 23 and Sunday June 24 at the Coca-Cola Fields at Chautauqua Park in Sioux City, IA.

Teams from across the Midwest are invited to compete with 100% of the tournament proceeds staying local and being donated to Support Siouxland Soldiers to provide food and housing assistance, emergency support and care-packages to our Siouxland Veterans and Troops.

Saturday will include a special ceremony to honor our Siouxland Veterans with great food, music, raffles, prizes, and more. The grill and concessions will also be available all weekend.

Support Siouxland Soldiers BBQ

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Support Siouxland Soldiers invites all Service Members, Veterans and Military families to attend our upcoming BBQ on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. at the Long Lines Rec Center, Hall of Fame, 401 Gordon Dr.

This free event will include:

  • a BBQ supper of corn bread muffins and pork ribs smoked by Famous Dave’s
  • sides and desserts provided by the American Red Cross
  • a box of groceries provided by a partnership of Support Siouxland Soldiers and the Food Bank of Siouxland
  • free clothing and hygiene items provided by the Micah Project
  • and a resource fair organized by Operation Engage America!

Support our Siouxland Troops and the Sioux City Stampede!

Join us in Supporting our Siouxland Troops and 2017 Midwest Football Alliance Champions, the Sioux City Stampede! The Stampede Football Season opener is Saturday May 5th at Memorial Field.

The Stampede will honor our Siouxland Troops, Veterans and Military families with a Military Appreciation Night at the first home game on Saturday, May 5th at 4:00 p.m.

The evening will include:

  • $3 off tickets with Military ID (Normal tickets are $10 per game)
  • Presentation of the Colors by the 185th Air National Guard
  • Military swear-in ceremony during half-time
  • Throw-outs and other tributes throughout the game

We hope to see you all there as we support our Siouxland Military and our Sioux City Stampede!

 

Waffles for Warriors

 

Waffles for Warriors is a free breakfast event for our Siouxland Veterans hosted on the last Wednesday of the month from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. We serve waffles, sausage, eggs, coffee, juice and milk as well as distribute groceries and provide information about free local services, events and resources available to Veterans in Siouxland.

Circus Military Vouchers

The Abu Bekr Shrine Circus has provided Support Siouxland Soldiers with  Coupon Vouchers for our Military Families to attend the 2018 Shrine Circus at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, IA

The coupons must be exchanged for a ticket at the box office prior to the show. Redeem early for best seat selection. Upgraded seating available at additional cost. The $12 coupons are valid for these dates:

Support Siouxland Soldiers’ 2017 Holidays for Heroes Event Served over 500!

The Support Siouxland Soldiers 10th Annual Holidays for our Heroes event was held Thursday, December 14 at 6:00pm! The evening festivities included a live performance of Christmas music, a catered holiday meal, Gifts for all of the kids, coats, socks, gloves, hats and blankets, free haircuts, holiday groceries, a resource fair and more! Thank you to all of our partners, donors and over 100 volunteers who make this event possible! And Thank you To all of our Veterans and Military Families for your service, it is an honor to serve and celebrate you!

Waffles for Warriors

We had a great Waffles for Warriors event today! Everyone received a free breakfast of waffles, sausage, eggs, coffee, juice and milk and everyone left with a free pumpkin, a 10lbs. package of beef or chicken, Halloween chocolate and Girl Scout Cookies!
