What a great event! Tonight Support Siouxland Soldiers distributed over 2,000 lbs. of food for the Siouxland Veterans as a way to give back to those who have served and sacrificed for our freedoms! It was a packed house as volunteers from East Middle School, Morningside College, the VFW, the 185th Air National Guard, Cubbys Convenience Store, Operation Barnabas, S.C.O.R.E, Hard Rock Casino and many others including other Siouxland Veterans joined together to serve those who have served. The students and teachers from East Middle School donated over 1,000 lbs of food, funds and wrote letters of appreciation to all the Veterans who attended. The Nursing students from Morningside College gave free blood pressure screenings (during their spring break!) and a special presentation took place as Tom Burns, a Siouxland Veteran, presented a special hand-crafted glass piece to Support Siouxland Soldiers. Stay tuned for a featured article about Tom’s glass art business and how to support Veteran owned businesses in Siouxland! Tonight was a great evening of patriotism and comradery for all who took part!
